Where Kids Grow, Learn & Shine

We’re more than just a youth center—we’re a hub for connection, growth, and real-life skills. At Setinc 7, we’re proud to serve the Greater Kansas City Area, offering youth counseling services and development programs that support kids from ages 5 to 15 as they navigate life, friendships, and everything in between.

Because Every Kid Matters

We know growing up isn’t always easy. That’s why we created a space where kids can talk it out, build confidence, and pick up skills that’ll help them for life. Whether it’s handling emotions, making friends, or just having someone to talk to—we’re here for it.

History and Origin

S.E.T. (Save, Educate & Train) Community Youth Center, Inc. was incorporated on April 21, 1995 in Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas. The Founder and Director is Charlotte Collins and the Co-Founder and Director was the late Charlestine Scroggins, both natives of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas. The Board Secretary-Treasurer was Erma Milton. It was put on hold for a while due to the death of Mrs. Scroggins.  S.E.T. was in the process of seeking a facility to better serve our youth and the families in our communities.

The mission and purpose of S.E.T. is to Save our youth and families from alienation from each other. To Save our youth from being forced to become “little” adults with responsibilities they are ill-prepared and unequipped to handle. To Save our youth and families from self-destruction and youth/family violence.

To Educate our youth and families to unite together with each other and with their neighbors. To Educate our youth and families to choose to, “Be all that they can be.” To Educate our youth and families on being positive role models for each other, themselves for the long-term, as well as the immediate future. To Educate our youth and families in discovering and following their creative passion and goals. To Educate and teach our youth more about computer literacy in this global society, how to have better communication skills (written/verbal), job seeking skills and individual health care assessments and personal needs.

To Train our youth to be responsible citizens, as they alone are not only the future of our community, but our nation as well. The youth of today will make decisions and choices that will directly impact upon each of us “tomorrow”. To Train our youth to seek out positive recreational activities, as well as productive and educational activities, in a non-violence atmosphere. Strengthening our schools one grade at a time through educational assistance, support and guidance as S.E.T. becomes partners with the school systems, principals, teachers and other administrative staff. To provide scholarships for special achievements in academics, sports, abstinence and the avoidance of teen pregnancy.

S.E.T. Community Youth Center, Inc. has re-opened with the sponsorship of “I Live to Give to Others”, LLC with Charlotte Collins, CEO/Owner. S.E.T. ‘s services are open to all youth, single mothers, and families in our communities without regard to race, religion, ethnic background or heritage, color or nationality.

S.E.T. is implementing plans to acquire a facility to fully meet the needs of youth, single mothers, and our community's families.
