Empowering Youth Through Development Programs
We, at Setinc 7, know that growing up isn't always easy—and you're not in it alone.
Our youth development programs are built to support kids ages 5 to 15 across the Greater Kansas City Area with:
- One-On-One Mentoring from caring adults
- Counseling Services that help kids express big feelings in a safe space
- Guidance for Behaviour and Emotional Challenges
- Help Navigating Friendships and Building Social Confidence
Case for Support: Trailblazers/ S.E.T Fun Spot
Trailblazers is the central program of S.E.T Community Youth Center, Inc. The program is designed for at risk middle school students and their mentor to participate in a structured program of support. Trailblazers focus will mainly be on youth ages between 10–15 years of age. The program will form partnerships with local schools, and agencies such as Unified School District 500 public and private schools, Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS Juvenile Service Center, Walnut Blvd Missionary Baptist Church 334 Parallel Ave Kansas City, KS 66101 and education consultants (referrals). Youth will also be given guidance on how to manage emotions and behavioral challenges with others. S.E.T Community Youth Center, Inc. wants to inspire pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills and instill a sense of hope.
Along with Trailblazer, S.E.T Community Youth Center, Inc. working to establish “S.E.T. FUN SPOT”. This program alongside Trailblazer will include all youths. As a group, we are seeking to have both programs long term, based on a twelve-month business plan that will be fun for all youth, engaging. The S.E.T. Fun Spot will have a game area with educational board and video games. The games will come from patron/sponsor donations and funds accrued through fundraisers. Another room will be a quiet room for schoolwork assistance, meditation, plus a chat room for counseling. These rooms will require chairs, tables, computers and other office supplies which we also hope to solicit funds for through fundraisers, sponsors and patron donations. S.E.T. is focusing on referring certified specialist for youth, ministers, and interns from the local college to help with counseling, mentoring and training. With them working alongside our team, we will build a professional team. Members of S.E.T. can help by volunteering for jobs where they have expert knowledge. The number of youth we take depends on the number of team members. No more than two students per team member depending on the needs of that youth, especially the counseling.
S.E.T. Community Youth Center, Inc is thriving to get this program up and running so we can, Save our young people one at a time. Educate our youth by encouraging an appetite for knowledge and skills. Train our youth to be productive citizens of their community.
